Retiring: what’s next?

In just a few weeks I will be retiring from a life of public service, 28 years to be exact. It is harder then I thought it would be to let go and move on. Its become more than a career into my identity. Luckily, I have more than one identity. One thing is sure, I want to continue a life of service helping others. I am passionate about staying physically fit and healthy into my retirement years. Not just status quo, but I want to go into retirement with my hair on fire, getting stronger, healthier and fitter. I want to make a career of helping others do the same. Everyone envisions that day when they can finally retire and do all the things they have dreamed of, but never had the time to make happen. Sadly, too many people reach retirement and instead of enjoying their retirement to its fullest, they find themselves a victim of sickness, injury, old age and unable to care for oneself. We can avoid that fate through exercise daily with aerobics, strength and core training, balance exercises, community connections, and eating foods that are not processed. My plan is to do this with my husband, who has 30 years experience as a physical fitness instructor, running the state’s SWAT team, and his own personal goals as a runner, football and baseball athlete. Stay tuned for that to come to life soon.

I also plan to commit full-time to my horse training & breeding program, promote the All Wounds & Scratches cream, go to farrier school, and really dive in to making our Airbnb all it can be!

Okay, these are all lofty goals. Not sure when I will have them ready, but at least I finally got our website updated to enable purchasing our All Wounds & Scratches Cream.
